On February 21, 2018, Ambassador of Ukraine Mykhailo F. Brodovych held a meeting with Chair of the Committee on Defence of the National Assembly of Slovenia, head of the Ukrainian-Slovenian interparliamentary friendship group  Žan Mahnič.

During the meeting the Slovenian side was informed about the main positions of the signed Law by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko «On peculiarities of the state policy on ensuring the state sovereignty of Ukraine in the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions».

The Ambassador also emphasized the necessity to launch the UN peacekeeping operation in Donbas.

The sides also discussed the Appeal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to states – partners on recognition of Holodomor 1932-1933 as genocide against the Ukrainian people. In this context the Ambassador called on the Slovenian side to consider the possibility to adopt appropriate document at the nearest session of the National Assembly of Slovenia.
