The legal framework of bilateral cooperation consists of 34 documents.

1. Protocol on establishing diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Slovenia dated March 10, 1992.

2. Protocol on cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia dated January 28, 1994.

3. Agreement between the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine and the Ministry of the Environment of the Republic of Slovenia on cooperation and environmental protection dated September 30, 1994.

4. Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on trade and economic cooperation dated August 28, 1996.

11. Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia on sea merchant shipping dated November 11, 2003.

Memorandum of understanding between the State Department of Financial Monitoring operating as part of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and the Anti-Money Laundering Unit of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Slovenia regarding cooperation in the field of combating the legalization (laundering) of proceeds of crime dated December 11, 2003.
