On September 12, 2018, Ambassador of Ukraine Mykhailo F. Brodovych held a meeting with Vice-rector of the University of Nova Gorica Mladen Franko.

The sides discussed the results of the visit of the Slovenian delegation, headed by Rector Danilo Zavrtanik, to Ivano-Frankivsk, for conducting meeting and negotiations with leadership and Rector of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University Igor Tsependa in order to discuss possible ways to deepen scientific and cultural cooperation between both universities under the concluded in 2017 agreement.

In the context of commemoration of victims of Holodomor 1932-1933 the Ambassador called on the Slovenian side to consider the possibility to organize exhibition at the University of Nova Gorica.

According to the results of the meeting it was agreed to intensify bilateral contacts between universities of Ukraine and Slovenia in order to expand the scope of bilateral cooperation.
