Ambassador of Ukraine H.E. Mr. Andrii Taran took part in the reception on behalf of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia and the President of the Republic of Slovenia on the occasion of the New Year.

The Ambassador of Ukraine expressed gratitude to the Slovenian side for the continued support of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people from the first days of the full-scale war of russia against our state, and wished for the continuation and deepening of the development of friendly relations between our states in 2025, and also congratulated the leaders of Slovenia on the New Year.

In her speech at the beginning of the event, Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar condemned the ongoing russian aggression against Ukraine and noted that "russia continues to violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine grossly. But it is Ukraine, as a sovereign state and a victim of aggression, that should have the last word in future peace negotiations."

"The territorial integrity of states is a fundamental principle of international law and is necessary for peaceful relations between neighboring nations, between EU and NATO member states, or between any countries in general," the President emphasized.

Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia Robert Golob also noted in his speech that "the international community must put aside its own interests and focus primarily on how to achieve a just peace in Ukraine."
