On September 17, 2024, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Slovenia Andrii Taran held a meeting with the regional representative of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Nicole Epting, and representatives of the Slovenian office of the UNHCR.

During the meeting, topical issues regarding the stay in Slovenia of citizens of Ukraine temporarily displaced to the territory of the country in connection with the full-scale war of russia against our state were discussed.

Nicole Epting informed the Ambassador of Ukraine about the current situation with ensuring the rights and basic needs of Ukrainians in Slovenia, measures taken by the UNHCR to uphold the rights and decent conditions of stay of Ukrainian citizens on the territory of Slovenia, problematic issues that Ukrainian citizens may face.

During the meeting, joint steps were agreed on for further communication with the government structures of Slovenia with the aim of optimizing the process of providing support to Ukrainian citizens and creating conditions for their return to Ukraine.
