On January 31, 2024, Ambassador of Ukraine A. Taran attended the final meeting as part of the three-week Slovenian training program of the delegation of Bucha City Council. The training took place within the framework of the two-year program "Post-war reconstruction of Ukraine", organized by the Center for European perspective in cooperation with the U-LEAD program with Europe and with financial support from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia.
As part of the training, the delegation of the Bucha community visited the partner city in Slovenia - Kočevje and for 3 weeks studied the experience of the city in the field of economic development, building a business incubator, as well as the development of tourist infrastructure.
The final meeting was attended by representatives of the delegation from Bucha, the mayor of Kočevje Vladimir Prebilic, and the mayor of Bucha (online).
In his address to the audience, the Ambassador of Ukraine A. Taran emphasized how important this kind of training is for Ukrainian communities, which gives the opportunity not only to adopt best practices in the areas necessary for them, both post-war development and approximation to European standards, but also to establish direct partnership relations with the relevant city or region - partner from Slovenia. An example of such successful cooperation is the partnership between Bucha and Kocevje, which, according to Mayor of Kocevje, should culminate in the signing of a corresponding agreement on twinning cities relations.
