On May 26, 2024, a charity bicycle race was held in Ljubljana in support of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people on the occasion of World Bicycle Day.

The event took place on the initiative of the Ambassador of Poland to Slovenia K. Olendzki and the Ambassador of Ukraine to Slovenia A. Taran in cooperation with the international humanitarian organization "Slovenska karitas".

The main purpose of the event was to express solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, to once again remind them about the ongoing war of Russia against Ukraine, as well as to draw attention to the humanitarian activities of "Slovenska karitas" in collecting funds for the humanitarian needs of Ukraine in connection with the ongoing war of russia against our state.

Ambassador of Ukraine A. Taran and Ambassador of Poland K. Olendzki kicked off the charity event.

Addressing the participants of the event, the Ambassador of Ukraine H.E. Mr. Andrii Taran emphasized that by participating, each participant expresses solidarity with all Ukrainians who continue their struggle against the aggressor.

Ambassadors of foreign countries, representatives of the diplomatic corps in the Republic of Slovenia, members of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Slovenia, a team of representatives of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, representatives of the Polish and Ukrainian communities in Slovenia, employees of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Slovenia, representatives of the Slovenian media took part in the bicycle race. 

Everyone had the opportunity to make a charitable contribution to the special account "Slovenska karitas" to help Ukraine!
