As Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Slovenia Andrii Taran emphasized in his speech at the annual conference "Peace Bread" in Slovenia on October 28, 2022, russia continues to blackmail the whole world with a food crisis and use the blocking of the "Grain Agreement" to renew its terrorist rhetoric and threats to the entire civilized world.
The russian side continues to block the functioning of the Black Sea Grain Corridor in every possible way. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine repeatedly warned about this, in particular, in a statement on October 24.
The Ukrainian side considers the message of the Ministry of Defense of the russian federation on suspension of russia's participation in the grain agreement as an embodiment of moscow's course to destabilize global food security under the pretext of the recent events in the city of Sevastopol.
Now it is extremely important that the UN and Turkey, as guarantors of the grain agreement, as well as those countries that depend on the export of Ukrainian grain, send russia a clear message on the inadmissibility of holding hundreds of millions of people in the world, in particular in Africa, Asia and Latin America, as hostages of such hunger games organized by the kremlin.
Ukrainian side calls on all states to demand russia to recommit to its obligations.
