On October 12, 2023, in the Slovenian town of Rečica ob Savinji, which suffered from devastating floods in August of this year and in which the Joint unit of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine was located, a ceremony was held to hand over the insignia of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine to the Municipality of Rečica ob Savinji.
In the presence of the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Slovenia Andrii Taran and the Director of the ITF Tomaz Lavrenčič, the First Gentleman of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Aleš Musar, handed over the chevrons to the mayor of the city, which he received as a gift from the leadership of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine during his recent visit to Ukraine.
Dr. Ales Musar expressed his gratitude for Ukraine's assistance during the devastating floods in Slovenia and noted that Ukraine and Slovenia were and will always be great friends who are ready to help each other.
The Ambassador of Ukraine to Slovenia, A. Taran, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the assistance to the Ukrainian state and the Ukrainian people from the side of Slovenia in connection with the ongoing war of Russia against Ukraine.
