The Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Slovenia continues its work to prevent russian ballerina-propagandist svetlana zakharova, who supports russian aggression against Ukraine and putin personally, from participating in a concert within the "Festival Ljubljana".

The Embassy of Ukraine prepared official appeals from the Embassy to the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, a letter to the Minister of Culture of Slovenia Asta Vrečko (attached), and also held a number of meetings.

Activists of the Ukrainian community in Slovenia prepared appeals to Slovenian officials and cultural figures.

Ukrainian Side considers that participation of svetlana zakharova in the concert of the “Ljubljana Festival” will have significant international resonance and will insult Ukrainian people who always have seen firm support from Slovenia from the very beginning of the full-scale war of russia against Ukraine, 

Also, the participation of putin's confidant during the 2024 elections svetalana zakharova in the main cultural festival of Slovenia can be considered by the Slovenian cultural community as a sign of tolerance towards russian aggression and ongoing war crimes committed by russians against Ukrainian people.
