18 July 2024 18:14

In Woodstock, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Slovenia Robert Golob signed an Agreement on Security Cooperation and Long-Term Support between Ukraine and the Republic of Slovenia.

Slovenia has already provided Ukraine with 13 packages of military aid (including in 2024) and intends to maintain this level of support throughout the ten-year term of the Agreement. The Republic of Slovenia also commits to meeting Ukraine's urgent needs to strengthen its security capabilities.

Slovenia will assist Ukraine with training within the framework of the EU Military Assistance Mission for Ukraine (EUMAM). The countries will cooperate in searching for funding sources to support the implementation of projects in the Ukrainian defense industry.

Separate sections of the document address non-military support. Specifically, Slovenia will allocate an additional 5 million euros for humanitarian aid, economic recovery, and the humanitarian program "Grain from Ukraine."

Moreover, the agreement outlines deepened cooperation in the areas of information and cybersecurity, combating serious and organized crime, intelligence and counterintelligence, as well as humanitarian demining.

The document clearly stipulates Slovenia's comprehensive support for Ukraine's future membership in the EU and NATO.
