This year among more than 30 000 people who participated in the march, were school, preschool children, students, Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia M.Cerar, President of the National Assebly of the Republic of Slovenia M.Brglez, foreign diplomats in Slovenia and everyone who wished.
The march was first organized in 1957. It is almost 35 km long route around Ljubljana, where between the Second World War the wire fence of Italian and later on the German occupiers was and is therefore called “March along barbed wire”.
Since than on the International Peace Day the march became a regular event, commemorating the victims of the II World War.
