Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Slovenia Andrii Taran led the Ukrainian delegation at the 18th annual Bled strategic forum called "Solidarity for Global Security" (Solidarity for Global Security), which took place on August 28-29. in Bled (Republic of Slovenia).

The current event in terms of scale and number of participants significantly exceeded the previous ones. The event was attended by European leaders, including the Chairman of the European Council Sh. Michel, presidents, prime ministers and foreign ministers of many European countries.

During the solemn opening ceremony of the event, the Chairman of the European Council S. Michel, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia R. Golob, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia T. Fajon, as well as the General Secretary of the forum P. Grk addressed the participants and guests of the event with introductory speeches.

During the speeches, all speakers emphasized the importance of solidarity in our time and the priority of supporting Ukraine to achieve stability and peace in Europe and the world.

The president of the European Council H.E. Mr. Charles Michel, said that the EU and the Western Balkans should be ready for enlargement by 2030. Prime Minister of Slovenia H.E. Mr. Robert Golob and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia H.E. Mrs. Tanja Fajon noted that Slovenia's priorities for the near future should be the end of the war in Ukraine, the acceleration of the EU accession process of the Western Balkan countries and the fight against climate change.

In their speeches, Slovenian political leaders expressed their gratitude to Ukraine for the humanitarian aid provided in connection with large-scale floods. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Robert Golob, noted the help from Ukraine is a strong demonstration of solidarity with Slovenia.

As part of the Forum, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Slovenia A. Taran held a number of bilateral meetings with representatives of Slovenian political and expert circles, representatives of foreign delegations of the forum's participating countries, as well as with representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Slovenia.
