On August 29, 2023, Ambassador of Ukraine Andrii Taran took part as a speaker in a discussion panel "Ukraine: The Power of Solidarity" as part of the Bled Strategic Forum.

The State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Slovenia Dr. Damir Črnčec, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Montenegro Krsto Perović, Ambassador of Poland to the Republic of Slovenia Krzysztof Jan Olendzki, and regional director of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Croatia and Slovenia Holger Haibach. Co-founder and executive director of the Regional Dialogue and editor-in-chief of Bled Strategic Times Mrs. Katja Geršak moderated the discussion.

During the discussion, the participants discussed issues related to the further development of Russia's war against Ukraine, future outlines of regional and global security architecture, the future of Ukraine in the EU and NATO, and ways to achieve a just peace for Ukraine. The discussion demonstrated the unity of the participants in their views on the causes and consequences of the war. The participants condemned Russia's aggression and called for the withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine, which is the fastest way to end the war.

The Ambassador of Ukraine during his speech noted the importance of continuing support for Ukraine, drew attention to the need to activate the processes of Ukraine's integration into the EU and NATO, called on foreign leaders not to be afraid of the collapse of russia, because only fundamental changes in the political and social structure of the aggressor state can serve as a guarantee of further security and stability in the region and the world.

The State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Slovenia, D. Chernecs, drew attention to the high level of mutual solidarity between Ukraine and Slovenia and expressed gratitude for Ukrainian help in overcoming the consequences of the flood, which Ukraine immediately provided, despite the ongoing war, and assured that Slovenia's position would not change.

The discussion attracted the wide attention of the participants of the Strategic Forum. The audience included foreign ambassadors, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Slovenia, members of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, representatives of scientific and expert circles, and representatives of the leading Slovenian media.
