On March 26, 2025, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Slovenia, Petro Beshta, held a meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, Urška Klakočar Zupančič.
"Slovenia's position on Ukraine remains unchanged. We have supported and will continue to support Ukraine and the Ukrainian people," said Urška Klakočar Zupančič.

During the meeting, Ambassador Petro Beshta expressed gratitude for Slovenia's unwavering support of Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as its official condemnation of russia's full-scale invasion.
The Ambassador also specifically thanked the Speaker of the National Assembly for the care provided to orphaned children who have been residing in Slovenia since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion.

Ambassador Petro Beshta proposed ways to enhance inter-parliamentary cooperation between Ukraine and Slovenia.

The restoration of friendship group meetings in a video conference format was discussed.

The Ambassador suggested several joint humanitarian projects, including the screening of a film about Russia's war against Ukraine at the National Assembly and organizing a speech by a representative of Ukrainian military medics for Slovenian deputies.

Additionally, the Ambassador proposed that the Speaker of the National Assembly join Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's "Bring Kids Back" initiative.

The parties discussed the upcoming Summit in Bucha and the potential participation of the Speaker of the National Assembly of Slovenia.

Plans for the 2025 Parliamentary Summit of the Crimea Platform were also discussed during the meeting.
