Today, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Slovenia Andrii Taran, held a bilateral meeting with the Chairman of the Ukraine-Slovenia inter-parliamentary friendship group, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, mag. Dean Premik.

Ambassador of Ukraine Andrii Taran informed the Slovenian side in detail about the current security situation in Ukraine, emphasized the urgent need to continue providing defense support to our country, expressed gratitude to the Slovenian parliamentarians for their constant support for the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine, for the official condemnation of the full-scale russian invasion, for already provided military, financial and humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

The Ambassador of Ukraine urged the deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia to recognize russia as a terrorist state, and the war crimes committed by the russian occupiers against the civilian population of Ukraine as genocide of the Ukrainian people.

The parties discussed a number of measures to activate and develop inter-parliamentary cooperation between Ukraine and Slovenia, in particular, the holding of video conferences at the level of friendship groups and heads of foreign policy committees of the National Assembly of Slovenia and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as well as the organization of a special session of the National Assembly for informing Slovenian parliamentarians about war crimes committed by the russian oссupants against the civilian Ukrainian population.
