Today, within the framework of the 12th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (Brdo pri Kranju, Slovenia), the Head of the Ukrainian delegation, Ambassador of Ukraine to Slovenia Andrii Taran took part as a speaker in the high-level discussion panel "EU Enlargement Process and EU Strategy for the Danube Region" with the participation of Heads of delegations at the level of Ministers and Deputy Ministers of foreign countries responsible for the implementation of the Strategy.

The discussion was focused on the actual issues of the EU enlargement process, namely on what it means for the member states participation in the EU Strategy for the Danube Region, how the EU can be prepared for future enlargement, how the candidate countries they are advancing with the agenda of joining the EU.

During his emotional speech, the Ambassador of Ukraine A. Taran drew the attention of the panelists to the terrible consequences of the aggressive war that russia continues to wage against Ukraine, to the numerous problems faced by the population of Ukraine, in particular the young generation of Ukrainians, and also emphasized the extraordinary determination of all Ukrainians population in their desire to gain Victory as soon as possible and to become a full-fledged member of the European family of nations, which caused applause from the audience.

The participants of the discussion agreed that in view of the ongoing military aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine and the growing threat to the entire European peace, the EU enlargement process is gaining even greater importance today.
