On October 26, 2023, the presentation and screening of the documentary film "Absolute Evil" about the war crimes of the russia in Ukraine took place in the premises of the European Commission Representation in Ljubljana. The event was organized and held by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Slovenia with the assistance of the Representation of the European Commission in Ljubljana.

For the presentation of the film, the famous Ukrainian military correspondent Andriy Tsaplienko, photo and video reporter, cameraman Igor Zakharenko, as well as a soldier of the National Guard of Ukraine, a participant in the heroic defense of Mariupol, Serhii Rotchuk, arrived in Ljubljana.

The event was opened with introductory speeches by the Chairman of the EC Representation in Ljubljana, Jerneja Jug Jerše, and the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Slovenia, Andrii Taran. Before the start of the film screening, the Director of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, mr. Oleksandr Ruvin, addressed the audience via video connection and told the foreign guests about the research on weapons used by russia, in particular, which is prohibited by international law and causes numerous victims among the Ukrainian civilian population.

In his speech before the screening of the film, Mr. Andrii Tsaplienko noted: "For all my time working as a military correspondent, I saw absolute evil for the first time. Moreover, it happened in my country. Our film proves that a classic fascist regime has been established in russia, which kills Ukrainians on a truly gigantic scale. However, if someone thinks that this fascist regime will swallow neighboring Ukraine and not go further to Europe, it will be a tragic mistake. Because unpunished evil always returns twice as strong."

The documentary "Absolute Evil" evoked a deep emotional response from the audience. Despite the fact that russia's full-scale war of aggression against Ukraine has been going on for almost two years now, foreign viewers have been extremely shocked by the level of brutality and barbarism of regular russian troops and their crimes against the civilian population.

After watching the documentary, the audience had the opportunity to talk with journalists and a Ukrainian soldier, to ask direct questions to witnesses of the terrible crimes of the russian federation against Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. Mr. Serhii Rotchuk spoke about his participation in defense of Mariupol and his term in the inhumane conditions of russian captivity.

The event attracted wide attention from the political, military and scientific circles of the Republic of Slovenia. Among the guests of the event were, in particular, State Secretary for National and International Security Andrej Benedeičic, Representative of the European Commission in Ljubljana Jerneja Jug Jerše, General Director of the Intelligence and Security Service of the Ministry of Defense of Slovenia Andrej Fefer, ambassadors, diplomats and military attachés of countries, accredited in Ljubljana.
