On March 8, 2024, on the eve of the birthday of the outstanding Ukrainian poet, novelist and thinker, painter and public figure, National Hero and Symbol of Ukraine Taras Shevchenko, a thematic cultural event dedicated to honoring the memory of the glorious Kobzar.

The event was attended by diplomats of the Embassy of Ukraine in Slovenia, members of the Ukrainian community in Slovenia, Ukrainians who were forced to leave their native homes due to Russia's war against Ukraine, as well as Slovenian friends of Ukraine.

Students and teachers of the Ukrainian school prepared a rich cultural program, which included folk Ukrainian songs, as well as the most famous poetry of Taras Shevchenko. The attention of the guest was attire by the performance of the Ukrainian-Slovenian music group "Verbena", as well as the musical accompaniment of Mykhaylo Sheyko.

The event was organized by the Ukrainian cultural and educational society ("Rukavychka" Zavod Rokavička - ukrainski center v Slovenije) with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Slovenia and became one of events within the framework of celebrating Shevchenko Days in the Republic of Slovenia.
