On March 26, 2024, a conference "Slovenia for Ukraine" was held in the EU House in Ljubljana, organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Slovenia together with the Ukrainian cultural society "Ljubljana-Kyiv" and the head of the Slovenian Society of Lacanian Psychoanalysis Nina Krainik .

The main goal of the event was to discuss the issue of support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people in their existential struggle against the russian aggressor and ways to strengthen this support from Slovenia.

The main difference between the "Slovenia for Ukraine" conference and many previous informational events was the involvement of representatives of Slovenian political and media circles in the discussion. The Ambassador of Ukraine to Slovenia Andrii Taran, Head of the Ukrainian Cultural Society "Ljubljana-Kyiv" Andreja Hevka , former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Dimitrij Rupel, military correspondent, journalist of the leading mass media of Slovenia "RTV Slovenia" Valentin Areh, head of the Slovenian Society of Lacanian Psychoanalysis Nina Krajnik took part in the discussion.

The event began with the opening speech of the Ambassador of Ukraine to Slovenia, Andrii Taran, who thanked Slovenian friends for the courage to personally visit Ukraine and see with their own eyes the terrible war that russia has unleashed in the heart of Europe, and expressed hope that the event will be another step in a joint struggle for the opportunity to convey the truth about russia's war against Ukraine.

Slovenian participants of the conference shared their experience of being in Ukraine during russia's full-scale war against our country, described their feelings and impressions from communicating with Ukrainians who face the horrors of war every day, and called on their compatriots to continue supporting Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.

The demonstration of a fragment of a documentary film by the Slovenian journalist V.Areh, filmed on the front lines of Bakhmut, made a great emotional impression on the audience of the conference. The journalist commented on his impressions of being on the battle line and noted that the terrible war that russia has unleashed against Ukraine cannot be compared with the conflicts on the Balkan Peninsula in terms of its scale and cruelty.

 As a cultural component of the event, the choir of the Ukrainian community of Ljubljana "Tree of Will" performed the compositions "Prayer for Ukraine" and "Oh, the Red Viburnum in the Meadow."

The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Slovenia, representatives of the political, scientific and media circles of Slovenia, and representatives of the Ukrainian community in Slovenia.
