A screening of the Ukrainian documentary film “Second Wind” took place in Slovenia, telling a powerful story of resilience, endurance, and mutual support among Ukrainian soldiers.
The film follows four Ukrainian servicemen with prosthetic limbs and a female soldier who survived injuries sustained on the front line. Together, they climbed Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 m, Tanzania), the highest peak in Africa, where they unfurled the Ukrainian flag as a symbol of resilience and faith.
The documentary captures not only the physical challenge but also profound inner transformations — overcoming trauma, rethinking the experience of war, and discovering new meaning in life.
The screening was followed by a discussion with the audience, during which themes of recovery, solidarity, and the importance of support were addressed.
Special attention was given to the contributions of Saša Miklič and Oleh Rogoza, who shared their experience of climbing Slovenia’s highest peak, Triglav, and presented their initiative to raise funds for a humanitarian project in Ukraine.
The event became yet another example of how culture and personal stories can unite people and draw attention to Ukraine.
