On September 19, 2019 Ambassador of Ukraine Mykhailo F. Brodovych made a regional trip to Nova Gorica, where he met with Mayor Klemen Miklavič, as well as with the representatives of the municipality.

The sides discussed directions of bilateral cooperation between Nova Gorica and Ivano-Frankivsk, special attention was paid to possible bilateral contacts at the level of heads of local administrations, which will strengthen economic and tourist ties.

It was talked about  cooperation between the University of Nova Gorica and the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, as well as it was positive noted the results of this year's visit to Ukraine by Vice-rector of the University of Nova Gorica Mladen Franko. The sides emphasized mutual interest in further strengthening of scientific contacts between higher educational establishments of our states.

In order to preserve our common historical and cultural memory the Ambassador and the Mayor agreed next steps towards reconstruction of the monument to the Ukrainian soldiers of the 20th Stanislavsky Regiment as well as of the 22nd Chernivtsi military formation.
