On March 28, 2024, Ambassador of Ukraine Andrii Taran took part in the state ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of the Republic of Slovenia's membership in NATO, which took place in the Congress Center of the Brdo state residence.
The event was opened with a speech by the President of the Republic of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar.
As part of the event, the Ambassador of Ukraine Andrii Taran held several meetings with Slovenian and foreign high-ranking officials.
In particular, with the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) General Christopher G. Cavoli, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovenia Tanja Fajon, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Slovenia, Lieutenant General Robert Glavas, as well as several representatives of the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs affairs, the Office of the President, the Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Slovenia.
The event was used to convey key messages regarding Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic aspirations, the importance of continuing and increasing the support of the Defense Forces of Ukraine by the Alliance countries in view of the ongoing full-scale war of russia against our country, as well as the need to make a decision on inviting Ukraine to NATO membership during the upcoming Washington Summit.
