The event was held as part of the visit of a Ukrainian delegation of cybersecurity experts to Slovenia🇸🇮 to exchange experience in countering cyberattacks. The meeting of the international cluster brought together more than 150 participants, including representatives of the public and private sectors, international organizations, the diplomatic corps and civil society.

The meeting began with opening speeches by the Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Serhii Demedyuk, Director of the Government Office for Information Security of the Republic of Slovenia Uros Svete, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Slovenia Andrii Taran.

“Not only Ukraine has faced serious challenges in the field of cybersecurity. Europe in general, and Slovenia in particular, are increasingly becoming victims of russian cyber aggression. Most recently, we have observed numerous cyberattacks by russian hacker groups on Slovenian state information resources.
As the Ambassador of Ukraine to Slovenia, I am very pleased to note real practical steps towards strengthening cooperation in such an important area between our friendly countries,” said Ambassador of Ukraine Andrii Taran.
The event was attended by the Director of the Government Office for Information Security of Slovenia U. Svete, Regional Director, CRDF Global in Ukraine Michael Verič, Cybersecurity Specialist in the Capability Development Unit of the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) Andrew Sarri, and the Head of the National CSIRT of Slovenia Gorazd Božić.

Representatives of the Information and Cybersecurity Service of the NSDC of Ukraine, the National Central Security Committee of the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police of Ukraine, and the National Bank of Ukraine shared their practical experience with the participants of the event.
During the visit to the Republic of Slovenia, the Ukrainian delegation also held a number of working meetings, including with representatives of the Government Office for Information Security of the Republic of Slovenia to discuss strengthening cooperation in the field of cybersecurity, exchanging information on current threats, and conducting joint exercises.
