Today, a commemorative event was held at the premises of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, dedicated to the third anniversary of the start of russia's full-scale war against Ukraine.
The event drew attention to russia's ongoing brutal war against our country, demonstrated strong support for Ukraine from friends and partners, and demonstrated solidarity with Ukraine.

The event was attended by foreign ambassadors, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Slovenia, Slovenian high-ranking officials, diplomats, and representatives of the press.

The attendees were addressed by the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Tanja Fajon, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Barbara Žvokel, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Slovenia Petro Beshta.


In her speech, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon, expressed support and solidarity with Ukraine, assured of continued assistance to Ukraine at all levels, and assured Slovenia’s commitment to the need to establish, above all, a just and comprehensive peace.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Barbara Žvokel, stressed the need for continued support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people in their ongoing struggle against the aggressor and called on all partners to unite in achieving a just end to russia’s war against Ukraine.

The Ambassador of Ukraine to Slovenia, Petro Bešta, expressed gratitude for the strong support and solidarity with Ukraine from Slovenia and other international partners, and noted that “the only way to end the terrible russian war and restore security and stability is the concept of ‘peace through strength.’

"A strong Europe is the only right choice, and unity is important for the strength of Europe," the Ambassador of Ukraine emphasized.
