As part of a series of commemorative events dedicated to the third anniversary of the start of russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Slovenia organized a photo exhibition entitled "Unbreakable. Three Years of Resilience" in the historic building of the Ljubljana City Hall.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition took place on a symbolic and sad day, February 24, 2025. The event was attended by Slovenian high-ranking officials, including the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Slovenia H.E. Borut Sajovic, together with representatives of the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of Slovenia, foreign ambassadors, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in the Republic of Slovenia, representatives of political, cultural and academic circles, Slovenian deputies, as well as representatives of the Slovenian media.

The photographs of the exhibition capture some of the most dramatic and emotional events that took place in our country during the three years of russia's terrible war against Ukraine, and which at the same time demonstrate the strength of the Ukrainian spirit and the indomitability of the Ukrainian people

During the opening ceremony of the exhibition, the guests of the event were addressed by the Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Poland in Slovenia Lukasz Paprotny, the Ambassador of France in Slovenia H.E. Mrs. Florence Levy, the Ambassador of Germany in Slovenia H.E. Mrs. Sylvia Groneick, the Ambassador of Ukraine in Slovenia H.E. Mr. Petro Beshta, the State Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia H.E. Mr. Vojko Volk, and the Deputy Mayor of Ljubljana Mr. Dejan Crnek.

The Ambassador of Ukraine to Slovenia, H.E. Mr. Petro Beshta, expressed gratitude for the strong support and solidarity with Ukraine from Slovenia and other international partners and noted that "this exhibition is a testament to the indomitable strength, courage and determination of the Ukrainian people in the face of an unprovoked and brutal war."

"We must never forget that behind every photograph there is a human life - a mother, a father, a child. Peace must be restored - but not just any peace, but a just and lasting peace, based on respect for international law, sovereignty and territorial integrity of states," the Ambassador of Ukraine emphasized.

The participation of Slovenian high-ranking officials and foreign ambassadors as speakers during the exhibition opening ceremony was a signal of strong support from our friends and allies, a demonstration of solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, as well as the active position on the need to support our state until a just and comprehensive peace will be achieved.

The highlight of the event was the performance of an original song called “Why us?” by Oleksandra Popelchuk, who is forced to stay in Slovenia due to the ongoing full-scale russian war against Ukraine.

We thank all participants of the event and invite everyone to visit the exhibition, which will be open until 03.03.2025 in the premises of the Ljubljana City Hall and is open to all visitors to the City Hall.
